LESSONS FROM THE COMFORT OF HOME
I teach out of my home studio in Omaha. It is helpful to have access to recording equipment in the case that you have an audition coming up that you need a recording of, or if you want to learn how to make a quality recording by yourself. I have experience successfully auditioning for local honor bands, All-State, and All-National ensembles, and I can help you prepare for your own auditions, whether for honors ensembles or college.

AREAS OF STUDY
One-on-One lessons are $50/hour. I recommend 60 minute lessons, but we can also do 30 minute lessons if an hour is too long. The first lesson is always free.
BASS FUNDAMENTALS
Having an instructor from the beginning will save you from developing bad habits and lay a solid foundation that you can build upon as you progress.
MUSIC THEORY
Though not essential to being a musician, knowing aspects of music theory can help students make mental connections when it comes to learning valuable skills as a musician. Music theory can help explain why different aspects of music are the way they are, and also help musicians communicate with each other.
JAZZ/IMPROVISATION
Studying improvisation will develop your musical ideas, helping you not just as a bassist, but a songwriter as well. My goal as an instructor is to give you tools that will help you find your unique ideas and voice on your instrument.
VERSATILITY
It is important to be versatile as a musician, this skill will allow you to create music with more people. I encourage my students to study whatever styles they want to learn, this gives them a wider breadth of skills and knowledge to draw upon
AUDITION PREPARATION
Auditions can be challenging, especially without an external set of eyes and ears that can provide tips on how to increase your odds of having a successful audition. From learning and polishing the music, to recording audio and video, I’ll be there to help with each step of the process.
AUDIO RECORDING/MIXING FUNDAMENTALS
I learned early on as a musician that having the ability to record instruments and make them sound their best is valuable. This skill will help you hear changes you want to make in your playing, hear back the music you write, and help you get the best sound out of your instrument.
